Seit 2014 hat Jacob Isenberg seinen Abschluss in der Taschen - lesen Sie hier wie es ihm seit seinem HSBA Maritime Management Studium ergangen ist:
1. What is your job right now?
I am the Personal Assistant to the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Hapag-Lloyd AG.
2. What was your HSBA highlight?
Besides different activities we did over the course of the three-year Bachelor’s programme, such as participation in the WHU Euromasters and the annual HSBA student getaway, the longest lasting highlight is a group of very good friends which I got to know while studying at HSBA.
3. Do you have any tips for HSBA students?
A tip that is not really unique, but if taken seriously takes the student experience to a next level: Make the most of every moment and opportunity! Meaning, participate in extracurricular activities, be an active member of the student body and seize the opportunities of a very distinct network of academia and business around HSBA. This requires a willingness to ‘go the extra mile’ – an effort absolutely worth it!
4. If you could meet a famous personality, who would it be and why?
If I assume this person will talk openly, I would be really interest to meet Xi Jinping at the moment, the President of China. Everyone observes how China currently expands its power in politics and business based on a very distinct plan. The Chinese view on the world, the New Silk Road initiative and the underlying vision for China as well as the personality of the Xi Jinping as one of the most important Presidents in the history of the People’s Republic of China would be most interesting to me.
5. What profession did your parents imagine for you?
I don’t know, I think they never really approached me with their ideas – if they had made up their mind - as they had confidence in me to figure out my path for the future. Definitely I always looked for an opportunity to have an impact and to work self-determined.
6. Do you have a favorite place?
My favorite place is probably my family home, beautifully situated in a small village an hour car ride north east of Hamburg, and the surrounding area.
7. If you were to publish a book about your life, what title would it have?
That’s too early in my life – I hope more interesting stories are still to come.
8. Who is your childhood hero?
Michel aus Lönneberga
9. Which three goals do you have for your future? What are your next steps in your career?
First, start a Master’s degree – the steps thereafter remain to be seen. I strongly believe that with every step you take new opportunities show up, which you couldn’t think of before!
Vielen Dank für deine Zeit und alles Gute für deine Zukunft, Jacob!
