The Executive MBA is perfect for practitioners from a wide range of academic backgrounds who wish to enhance their skills profile. With its generalistic approach, a broad range of business administration theory as well as relevant economic and legal topics are covered. This applied study programme in particular focuses on internationality, business ethics and governance.
The Executive MBA is offered as full-time (1,5 years) and part-time (2 years) study programme.
Whilst the full-time version offers the students a highly concentrated study programme based on the format of renown Executive MBAs on the international market, the part-time version allows them to combine their studies with (full-time) employment.

Study Structure
In order to complete the programme successfully and be awarded the MBA degree, 90 ECTS must be collected. The credits are spread over ten modules and the thesis.
The study programme covers a broad range of business administration theory (including Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Human Resources) as well as relevant economic and legal topics. The overlapping topics of internationality, business ethics and governance are incorporated in the modules and analysed in the respective context. The degree concludes with a four-month thesis.
Study Plan
- Turnaround Management: Introductory Case Study
This module introduces the issues covered by the course in a two-day case study and together with the concluding case study provides an overarching framework for the entire study course. The different perspectives are weighed up against each other in order to simulate a complex decision-making process and to reach realistic decisions.

The module teaches students about the consequences for a company entering the international market. The students put what they have learned into practice in a project from their company. A week abroad in Dubai is a special feature of the module in which intercultural aspects in the area of International Strategic Management are taught.

The module teaches the elements of business ethics and their significance for long-term

Students will receive a sustainability challenge from a business partner and work on an innovative solution for the challenge during the camp week. At the end of the week, students will present their results to the business partner.

The module teaches students how to evaluate and compare investment projects or financing
options on the basis of reliable information. - Entrepreneurship & Business Plan
The module deals with entrepreneurship in all its facets, ranging from business plans to innovation management and restructuring. It further includes the creation of a personal Business Plan.
- Master Thesis and Colloquium
The Thesis concludes the postgraduate programmes at HSBA. Its results will be presented in the final Colloquium.
