On Monday, 5 November, the Hanse Association presented this year's awards. The prize winner was Dr Cecilia Malström, EU Commissioner for Trade, Brussels. In addition to this award, the Hanseatic League's sponsorship prize was also awarded: It went to HSBA student Tobias Janning, who is completing his dual studies at the HSBA cooperation company Nordic Hamburg Shipmanagement. In his outstanding Bachelor thesis, he investigated the use of hydrogen as a marine fuel and found that commercial use is much quicker than expected. For this purpose, he analysed extensive primary data and evaluated them in several scenarios.
The greeting of the award ceremony was given by the First Mayor of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, Dr Peter Tschentscher. The laudation for the prize winner was held by Dr Thomas Mirow, the laudation for Tobias Janning by HSBA Professor Dr Max Johns. The HSBA Band accompanied the ceremony and were awarded with enthusiastic applause of all guests.
Tobias Janning completed his Bachelor's degree in Maritime Management at ÎçÒ¹AVn September of this year.
