SQUARE Innovation Session: Exponential Innovation
"Exponential Innovation" - Under this title the Managing Director of HSBA and SQUARE, Dr. Uve Samuels, describes how a reform of the university sector can help the German economy to cope with the great pressure for innovation. In order to cope with the exponential growth of Chinese and American companies, the German economy and thus also the university landscape must change radically. There is an increasing decoupling of teaching from business: changing requirements regarding innovation speed, technological know-how, as well as changing processes and methods in business are increasingly no longer reflected in teaching. At the same time, innovations in science are hardly put into practice. The solution: a stronger systemic networking of business and science.
On 5 December 2019, Thomas Voigt, Group Vice President Corporate Communications of the Otto Group, will discuss the core theses of the book with Uve Samuels. In particular, the importance of universities for the development of Germany as a business location will be discussed, and comparisons with the American and Chinese university models will be made.
